Your Therapist: Hi there, I’m Andrew. I’m a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with experience working with a wide range of mental health disorders and conditions, with anxiety disorders and low self esteem treatment as my specialities. Within my practice I bring a breadth of knowledge and expertise to the therapeutic environment, from both a professional background and my own experiences.
I founded Prosperity as I believe that mental health treatment is a service that is often overlooked, and should be easily accessible for those in need of it. My goal is to provide you with a welcoming, supportive environment where you can freely discuss whatever is affecting you in a non-judgmental, supportive and empathetic manner.
Through working together, we can establish what you’d like from our time together as well as work towards short or long term goals, with potential gains of: an increased ability to manage challenging thoughts and feelings, finding new insights into yourself and your experiences, developing a greater sense of self-worth. and improving your quality of life and wellbeing. Therapy with me can help you learn new skills to manage any challenges you face as well as develop your abilities to overcome further difficulties.
Therapy can be a life changing experience, and whilst it can be daunting to reach out for help my aim is to provide you with a safe, supportive environment where we can establish a positive and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Qualifications: My primary qualification is my Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Groupwork. I hold additional qualifications in counselling, have undertaken CPD training in Schema Therapy, and also in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Children & Young People, allowing me to provide my services for those of ages 12 and upwards. I have several years of experience working within mental health services, as well as a voluntary capacity role for the mental health support organisation SHOUT.
I am passionate about learning and passing my education onto others, as such alongside my client work I continue to study to broaden my therapeutic and counselling approach.
Memberships: I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and as such, adhere to their ethical framework and guidelines.
